I am totally feeling like a blogging slacker. Whenever I think, "hey I need to write a post", I am out running errands and by the time I get home to sit down at my computer to do it, something else distracts me and then it doesn't happen. I might just have to start using the app on my phone and do something small.
Well, to catch you up on the past month or so... I am almost finished with my teacher training, I have applied to 11 districts and 2 charter schools so far... went on 2 interviews but nothing yet. I am still praying it happens and I know it will in due time. I am not patient though. I reveived my scores from my TEA content test... PASSED. So now I can teach grades 4 through 8.
I have come to figure out I am addicted to Goodwill/thrift stores/Craigslist lately. I do not know if it is the idea of saving as money as I have or the thrill of finding a good deal but I have become almost addicted at buying things lately from Goodwill, Craigslist, and thrift stores. Here are some of my recent purchases:
(Ann Taylor Loft heels found at Goodwill for $6.99 plus 30% off for a total of $5.29 with tax...
found online for $138)
(a microfiber couch... VERY clean... bought on Craigslist for $80)
(two pair of flats... plaid one was $3.99 and the brown ones were $4.99 at Goodwill)
(3 pairs of shoes bought at Goodwill last week...
total retail value of about $130 and bought them for $18 with tax)
(messenger bag bought at Goodwill... valued around $40 and they had it priced for $6.99)
(a Vera Bradley tote bag bought at Goodwill... found them online for $86 they had it priced for $4.99)
(technically bought at www.halfpricebooks.com but the book on the left is to assist me be a better teacher and they had it for 99 cents and I have found it online for almost $30 and the one on the right is for one of my masters classes and they had it for $1.99 and the campus bookstore had it for almost $20)
See why I have an addiction? And then to make things worse, I went to Walgreens today and got all of this stuff for $33 (saved almost $37 AND got a $10 reward back)!!
(there are 3 cases of water, 6 24 packs of crayons, 6 boxes of 8 count pencils, 16 highlighters, 2 scissors, 4 boxes of Kleenex, 4 spirals, an iPhone game for my son, and a bag of chia seeds)
Now I really need to find a job to feed this addiction... I joke!
I think that pretty much catches up the past month. Do you have any plans for the last month of summer before school starts? I have friends who are going to the beach and camping. We really do not have plans.
